English learning: Listen & Read
https://esl-bits.net/
- very useful web page
- there are thousands of audiobooks; short stories, novellas, dramas and songs
- you can choose between faster and slower listening speed
- you can find their classics, modern authors, intermediate and advanced materials
- There are exercises aimed to:
- Articles - you will read popular English fables and there is an empty space wherever an article is missing. After filling in, it checks it and if you have something wrong, you can try again. Then there is also a brief (but comprehensible) explanation where you should be using "a", "the", "an".
- Idioms, saying & slang - you can look for them by section or by a specific word. I have found this part very useful.
- Reading activities and test preparation - these interactive activities will help you read and understand English and prepare for reading exams.
